Part of the curse of being the inquisitive technology loving type is that friends frequently ask for assistance. Normally, the types of requests are for help with a slow computer, or to recover accidentally deleted files. I was surprised at how reasonable the cost ended up being for this solution. This was especially true when we started pricing out the cost to do the same project with a standard HDMI Splitter using regular HDMI Cables. The price per foot for HDMI cables versus Cat5 network cables is obscene. Using this Cat5 solution enabled us to go much farther compared to standard cables.
